Service Description

New Choices: Vocational Guidance Workshops offered in a five-week series to assist in the transition from home to work. The series emphasizes personal and peer counseling, career assessment, career exploration, job search and survival skills, personal development, financial management, stress management, time management, communication skills, and community awareness. We also offer a minimum of 16 hours of basic computer training.

Personal interviews to assess needs and determine an individual plan of action

All clients will be eligible for: Individual vocational counseling, Linkages with educational/vocational/technical institutions in the area, Tuition or financial aid for short term educational/vocational/technical programs, Referrals to community based agencies, Follow-up services - resume revisions, additional cover letters, interview preparation, and mini-workshops of special interest.
