2026 Indiana County Point In Time of Unsheltered Homeless Summary Report

The US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires county homeless assistance grant recipients to conduct regular counts of homeless people (Point in Time Count). This count includes both sheltered and unsheltered counts. The counts are taken across PA on the night of the third Wednesday of January each year in PA. The Indiana County Department of Human Services coordinates an active committee that completes activities for the Unsheltered Count. The committee representatives are from agencies, organizations, and individual residents interested in helping with the needs of our most vulnerable residents. The committee completes outreach about the count, as well as what services are available to those who find themselves homeless. They also canvass the county the night of the count to try to find anyone who is unsheltered homeless or those who are in uninhabitable conditions. Residents of the county are asked to share any possible locations where unsheltered individuals/families may be found. If you want to learn more about the count and the effort that is put forth to help/locate these individuals/families, review the 2026 Indiana County Point in Time Count of the Unsheltered Homeless Summary Report. The report can be found under the Information Tab in the menu. Go to the bottom of the page and find the Indiana County Point in Time Count of the Unsheltered Homeless Folder. Click on that folder then on the 2026 Unsheltered Count Summary Form for Coordinators. The 2025 report can also be found in the folder.

Indiana County SPEAKS UP SURVEY 2022

To view the results of the Indiana County SPEAKS UP Survey 2022, please see the folder under the About Tab in the menu. Click on Data Sources, then on the Indiana County SPEAKS UP Survey 2022 Results File. The first spreadsheet consists of survey questions with graphs. The second spreadsheet has comments sorted into categories. The third spreadsheet has comments sorted by zip codes.

This was an anonymous survey. 2285 people responded to the survey, and the survey received over 1600 comments on a variety of topics from the residents of Indiana County.

The Power Point Presentation shared at the Town Hall Meetings held in May and in early June will be added to the website soon. 

 

Indiana County, PA Community Video Tour

The Indiana County Center for Economic Operations (CEO) affiliates are proud to announce the completion of a new series of videos entitled "Indiana County, PA Community Video Tour". The project includes seven short videos which provide an overview of the quality of life in Indiana County. The series includes an introduction video featuring Indiana County Commissioners Mike Keith, Robin Gorman and Sherene Hess. Additional videos include "Indiana County Works", "Indiana County Plays", "Indiana County Learns", "Indiana County Cares", "Indiana County Welcomes", and "Community Organizations" providing a glimpse into Indiana County for those interested in learning what it's like to live, learn, work and play in Indiana County, Pennsylvania.
